You’re either being spanked or you’re not.
You’re either consenting to it or you’re not.
Once again contrast manifests itself in my work. This time, the difference highlighted is that between the acceptance and rejection (in other words, the consent and non-consent) of restrictions. The contrast is between control and lack of control.

This piece is an expression of the frustration felt by a non-consensual victim of control, abuse and oppression. A comparison is made between a perceived lack of consent and an actual lack of consent; a pretend lack of control and a true lack of control.
The recessed words of the paddle will temporarily mark the subject. A temporary brand. A reminder from the dominant to the submissive. In this piece, the words are of particular importance.
It draws attention to the fact that play pretend is an escape from the real restrictions placed upon us by society, the law, systems etc. The method of escape is merged with that which is to be escaped from.
