'RACING STRIPE'
This is an exploration of the materials. It is one of my earliest experiments. I wanted to see if I could make crisp lines with different colours of faux leather.
I aimed for a seamless transition between each of the different pieces of material. Unlike the obvious seams in my ‘Serpentine’ piece, the joins here are smooth and seamless. They cannot easily be felt or seen (aside from the colour difference, of course).

'Racing Stripes' Faux leather on wooden board, 60cm x 79cm, 2025

Racing stripes are dangerous and exciting, yet recognisable. There is safety in this recognisability and comfort in the balance of the stripes against the background.

It’s a bold statement piece that signifies the beginnings of me developing my own style.
